The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries seek a forward-thinking, service oriented, preservation minded individual to serve as the Digital Library Analyst. The successful candidate will have opportunities to work both individually and collaboratively, using their experience with Digital Library technologies to support existing platforms and services while designing and implementing new ones. The UW-Madison Libraries are in the process of consolidating content from legacy platforms into an existing Fedora Commons Repository and discovery service, in order to build a robust digital preservation infrastructure and provide a unified discovery experience. As part of the Digital Library Services team, the Digital Library Analyst will play a key role in implementing this new infrastructure, ensuring that the needs of users, content providers, library staff, and researchers are met in support of the Libraries’ strategic goals.

The Department of Engineering Professional Development (EPD) is an internationally-recognized, financially self-sustaining academic department within the UW-Madison's College of Engineering. The Department seeks to fulfill the university's commitment to the "Wisconsin Idea" by providing non-credit short length courses, customized training, online distance degree programs, and technical assistance to practicing professionals in a wide range of technical disciplines. This position is responsible for executing tasks associated with the Department's internal preparation of instructional materials. The work includes communicating results to and requesting assistance from Departmental university and academic staff, as well as off-campus instructors, who are leading continuing education programs. This position will lead in the production of instructional materials for use in a variety of delivery modes including face-to-face, blended, and online. The instructional materials will be optimized for both print formats as well as digital distribution for program participants. Extensive internal procedures must be followed to successfully complete assignments. Most of the work is performed using advanced level computer software. The position responsibilities include assigning and evaluating tasks performed by student employees.
