Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, preferred specialization in public health, health professions, biological sciences, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

- 1 year or more post-degree professional level experience in public health, healthcare or clinical research, or quality improvement (QI) is preferred.
- Coursework in social or medical science research methodologies or provision of health care is preferred.
- Experience in medical research or primary care service preferred.
- Computer literacy for literature searches, data entry, data management, data tabulation, statistical analysis and data presentation in tabular and graphic formats is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required.
- Must be self-motivated and goal-orientated with excellent organization skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience in communication (written and spoken) with medical providers, researchers, quality improvement teams, and patients is highly preferred.
- Experience in research confidentiality and privacy issues is preferred.
- Demonstrated application of specific research methods for clinical research, patient recruitment, and the management and conduct of research studies in diverse settings is preferred.

Position Summary:

The Wisconsin Research and Education Network (WREN) is a statewide practice-based research network of primary care clinicians and academic researchers. Founded in 1987, WREN is one of the oldest and most respected practice-based research networks in the United States. WREN members conduct high-quality translational research projects in academic settings and "real-world" family practices across Wisconsin. The mission of the Wisconsin Research and Education Network (WREN) is to promote and conduct primary care research and education in partnership with primary care clinicians and the communities they serve.

This position serves as a Regional Research Coordinator (RRC) for WREN activities. The incumbent will staff multiple projects across a variety of content areas.

Additional Information:

The position of regional research coordinator is part of the infrastructure of the Wisconsin Research and Education Network (WREN) and the UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. WREN central offices are located in Madison.

The work location for this position is flexible between the primary WREN service areas of Madison or Milwaukee. A telecommuting arrangement may be required. Positions located outside of the WREN central offices will be required to travel to Madison regularly for meetings and other business. WREN reserves the right to re-assign the work location of this position to other areas of operation so long as it is mutually agreeable between the incumbent and WREN leadership. Travel to multiple locations around the state of Wisconsin will be required. Incumbent must provide his or her own transportation that meets UW-Madison Risk Management standards for which mileage traveled will be reimbursed through project resources at the current state level. Some early morning, evening and weekend work may be required. Flexible work hours may be arranged.

Position FTE is negotiable between 25% and 100%.

Prefix assignment and salary will be determined by qualifications and years of relevant experience.
