Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelors Degree required. Advanced degree in continuing or adult education, public health or healthcare administration is preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required
Two years of experience applying adult education principles and introducing effective approaches to educational planning, instructional design, and evaluation and outcomes measurement.
Complex project management in continuing education, training design and delivery, process improvement or evaluation.
Experience building positive relationships with clients while maintaining a focus on accreditation compliance requirements.

Preferred
Experience in accreditation compliance (CME, ANCC, ACPE, Maintenence of Certification (MOC) or Joint Accreditation)
Demonstrated process improvement experience (e.g. Lean, FOCUS-PDCA)

Position Summary:

As a member of the UW-Madison Interprofessional Continuing Education Partnership (ICEP), the School of Medicine and Public Health Office of Continuing Professional Development (OCPD) delivers accredited continuing education planned by, for and with the healthcare team. OCPD partners with departments in the SMPH, UW Health, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy and expert organizations, professional associations and hospitals and clinics that fall within the ICEP Mission and Vision.

This position is primarily responsible for working with our educational partners and internal staff to develop and administer a robust Regularly Scheduled Series program. A regularly scheduled series (RSS) is an accredited continuing education activity that is planned as a series with multiple, ongoing sessions, e.g., offered weekly, monthly, or quarterly; and is primarily planned by and presented to School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health faculty and staff. Common examples of RSS include grand rounds, tumor boards, and morbidity and mortality conferences. This position is accountable for the overall functioning including monitoring compliance with accreditation criteria, reporting, budgets and coordinator and chair professional development of the Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) program (70+ series/year) and periodic live or online courses.

The candidate should have the ability to work effectively as a team member in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities, to effectively problem solve, and identify available resources. The candidate must be proficient in grammar, punctuation and spelling, have used Microsoft Office products and experience using database software. The candidate should champion the value of accredited continuing education, support a healthy work environment in both education and practice and contribute to a supportive and innovative culture.
