Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean for Human Resources/Payroll and with a great deal of independence, this position is responsible for performing a wide variet of Divisional human resources activities for the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM). The SVM employs approximately 210 unclassified, 130 postdoc trainees and graduate students, 30 LTE's and 200 student hourly employees. This position with use advanced knowledge of the University and Academic Staff appointment and compensation system to perform a wide variety of human resources actvities for the SVM. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing assistance with recruitment, staffing, classification, compensation, payroll, onboarding, employment verification, and VISA application processes.
THis position must demonstarte exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, and the general public with whom he/she interacts; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information with tact and discretion; use effective team skills to contribute to the efficient operation of the work unit; present ideas, carry out assignments, provide informaton as required; and participate in continuous learning through professional development activities.

Experience working in HR at a University, institution of higher education, or state agency is preferred.

Schedule Comment:

Regular Business work schedule Monday-Friday 7:45am-4:30pm.
