5-7 years in private industry experience required. Prior experience with Industrial Outreach in a research consortium required. Experience in private sector business development preferred. Teaching experience strongly preferred.

Position Summary:

This position involves undergraduate teaching responsibilities in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and provides technology-focused industrial outreach, collaboration, and coordination between the Grainger Institute for Engineering (GIE), related research consortia in the College of Engineering (CoE), and local, national, and international companies and organizations. The CoE is one of the nation's top colleges of engineering with eight degree-granting departments and a ninth department focused on continuing professional education. The College has 3800 undergraduates and 1500 graduate students, a total annual budget of $215 million, approximately 200 faculty, 1100 research and support staff, 1500 graduate assistants and 500 student employees. Formed in June of 2014, the Grainger Institute for Engineering within the College of Engineering is positioned to capitalize on national thrusts in advanced manufacturing through trans-disciplinary, integrated interactions at a large-scale, technically diverse university. The GIE facilitates interactions with both internal and external R&D and tech-transfer partners, providing flexibility and agility to address existing or emerging challenges in our modern world. Initially, the institute's focus centers on materials and manufacturing.
