The International Division supports international academics, internships, research, and partnerships on campus and abroad. The division is a resource for campus, the city of Madison, and the state?reinforcing the university?s position as a top global institution and ensuring students are prepared to engage in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world.
The executive assistant provides a wide variety of specialized administrative assistance and advanced program support to the dean/vice provost of the International Division and the division?s leadership team. The incumbent must utilize a considerable amount of independent initiative and informed judgment, exercising a high level of administrative problem solving, analytical ability and confidentiality in order to coordinate and prioritize the work of the Dean?s Office. The executive assistant communicates extensively with staff in the offices of the chancellor, provost, vice chancellors, and other deans, as well as with department administrators, center directors, and external organizations.
The executive assistant is expected to independently develop and maintain activities and procedures to meet the demands of the position. The incumbent will develop materials, and gather, interpret, and analyze data to prepare summary reports to be utilized by the dean in decision making. This position requires advanced administrative, organizational, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills. Advanced computer and online system skills are essential. In addition, applicants must demonstrate the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment on a broad range of tasks with multiple groups and teams including faculty, staff, students and the public.
