Degree and area of specialization:

Ph.D. required, preferably in biology, cell biology, zoology or a related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

The successful candidate should have 5 years of experience in 3D cell biology, specifically in the area of cellular mechanosensing with advanced experience in multiphoton and confocal microscopy required. Experience with fluorescent lifetime techniques, Second Harmonic Generation imaging, and image analysis are required. Good communication skills and the ability help to manage student projects is essential.

Position Summary:

Trhe applicant will be involved in NIH funded projects in the areas of collagen dense breast cancer. The candidate will be expected to carry out/develop the described research project under the direction of the principal investigator. This will include identifying reserach problems and designing research methodologies; assisting in the writing of grants and manuscripts for peer reviewed journals; and additional duties as requested by the principal investigator.

Additional Information:

It is ideally suited for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who can work at a highly independent level and function to supervise and help direct graduate/undergraduate projects. A 12 month evaluation period will be required.
