Advertised Salary:

Minimum $45,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in science or engineering

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

-1 year required, 2 years preferred, experience supporting computer systems
-Experience working in an academic or scientific setting is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to help a wide variety of customers and skill levels with simple to complex computer issues
- Experience setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting computing software and hardware - Windows and Mac primarily, Linux experience is a plus
- Experience deploying desktops and software using management tools
- Demonstrated ability to keep desktops and servers secure and protected, via proven management and backup practices
- Comfortable learning about engineering education and research, to help advise on suitable computing systems and software
- Interest in understanding scientific computing, particularly to help instructors or researchers implement unique systems and equipment
- Experience documenting technology implementations for other IT professionals to understand
- Successful collaborator, able to leverage services across organizations
- Strong problem solving skills
- Great written and verbal communication skills

Position Summary:

The College of Engineering (CoE) seeks an enthusiastic, talented and excellent communicator to provide desktop computer support and systems administration, with a focus on the department of Biomedical Engineering. The person filling this position has the opportunity to join some of the brightest faculty, staff, and students at a world-class university.
Working under the direction of the Director of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), this person will join an innovative, collaborative and dedicated staff in providing the computing infrastructure to deliver the instructional, research, and outreach services in the College of Engineering.
