Advertised Salary:

Minimum $54,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Acceptable degree areas: higher education, social justice education, student affairs or closely related areas.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum 4 years full time professional experience with a Bachelor's degree or 2 years full time professional experience with a Master's degree.
1. Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Social Justice.
2. Acceptable professional experience areas: cultural center resource office or support program, student activities, student leadership, residential life, organizational development, and educational administration
3. Strong theoretical and practical understanding of cultural, identity, student, and organizational development theories
4. Proven ability to manage multiple projects with complex logistics, including the successful management and supervision of professional staff, graduate student staff, and undergraduate student staff.
5. Facilitation (ability to lead a deep, engaging discussion while managing conflict and encouraging growth).
6. Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from a variety of identities
7. Strong planning, coordination, and evaluation skills
8. Supervision of student, part-time, para-professional and/or volunteer staff
9. Capacity to make difficult decisions quickly and flexibility to handle multiple tasks
10. Strong communication skills (written, oral, and electronic)
11. Strong organizational skills

Preferred/Desired Qualifications
1. Experience in cultural and/ or multicultural centers
2. Leading staff professional development events/activities
3. Evaluation, assessment, and strategic planning
4. Training in conflict resolution/mediation, intergroup dialogue, or restorative justice
5. Understanding of/Experience with both Active and Passive co-curricular educational programming
6. Familiarity with advising cultural and identity-based student organizations

Position Summary:

This position reports to the Assistant Dean/ Director of the MSC and provides leadership and coordination to the portfolio of programming related to cultural programming based out of the Multicultural Student Center. This inaugural position will lead strategic conversations with stakeholder groups, in particular students, about the continued development of cultural programming.
