Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree; preferred in business administration or related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

- Knowledge of budgeting theory, methods, analytical techniques for creating projected budgets.

- Minimum two years' experience in financial management and analysis including budgeting, forecasting, and accounting in healthcare or a research environment.

- Two years of experience with contract development and negotiation process is preferred.

- Four years of experience in pre award or post award administration related to various extramural sponsors is preferred.

- Prefix assignment will be determined by years of relevant work experience. A minimum of seven years experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

Position Summary:

This is a mid-level leadership position, which is responsible for the full-lifecycle of clinical trials business & fiscal administration. The Manager of Clinical Research Finance Administration oversees a complete administrative continuum, which begins at early budget analysis and negotiation - and finishes with final revenue collection and account closeout. All contracting, amendments, actual charges, revenue collection, and compliance are the primary charge of this manager's area.

This position supports members of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) Clinical Research Disease Oriented Teams (DOTs), Clinical Research Central Office (CRCO) and Clinical Research Leadership and leads a team of two post award and two pre award direct reports. This position is responsible for decision making related to the integrity of the clinical research financial portfolio, the efficiency and efficacy of the department and driving the strategic plan of the Carbone Cancer Center forward.
