Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in education, health business administration, communications or closely related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

This position requires at least one year of experience working in a professional business/administrative environment. Writing proficiency demonstrated in professional and/or educational experience is required.

Experience in educational administration and/or office management in an academic health care setting is preferred. Familiarity with international programs and/or international travel is desirable.

Position Summary:

The Education Program Coordinator is responsible for leading the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Fellowship Program and the Department's International Ophthalmology Program. This position reports to and provides administrative leadership assistance to the Strategic Messaging Director in developing strategic messaging for clinical, educational, research, employee, and philanthropic programs of the Department.

Ability to work professionally and collaboratively in a team setting consisting of diverse populations of faculty, staff, fellows, residents, and medical students.

The position requires an individual who is thorough, organized and highly proficient with computers.
