Two years of post-secondary education with course work in personnel, business, human resources, counseling or a related field is required. Two years of experience in financial aid or the field of employment or personnel which focused on student outcomes is required.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Director for Student Employment serves as the deputy and principal advisor to the Associate Director for Special Awards relating to all matters encompassed within the Student Employment Unit. Working independently to manage staff, the Assistant Director for Student Employment will collaborate with the Associate Director to establish and oversee the strategic direction and operational objectives of the Student Employment Unit. The Assistant Director for Student Employment also serves as an expert resource person within the Office of Financial Aid and as a liaison to the campus community on Student Employment initiatives.

The Assistant Director for Student Employment reports directly to the Associate Director for Special Awards, is a member of the Office Leadership Team and assists the Associate Director in ensuring that all federal, state, and institutional regulatory requirements are met as it pertains to the Student Employment Unit. The position is the primary liaison with all 20 schools/colleges across the institution to assist in awareness of the Federal Work Study program which is administered to over 3,000 students and has a budget exceeding $3M. In addition to Federal Work Study, this position assists with all students seeking employment through the Office of Student Financial Aid. This also encompasses our administration of the Student Job Center which averages over 20,000 users and 40,000 sessions monthly.
