Position Summary:

URS is a campus-wide program that brings primarily freshmen, and sophomores, including those from underrepresented populations, into the University's community of researchers and artists. URS students earn academic credit for assisting a faculty or staff member with research or creative work, and participating in a weekly URS seminar led by upper-level undergraduate peers called URS Fellows. URS offers students research opportunities across the full scope of scholarly activity on the campus, ranging from the physical and biological sciences, social sciences, humanities and performing arts.

The URS program seeks an Assistant Director who is intellectually curious across disciplines, and appreciative of research and creative work contributions in different spheres of society. Further, we seek a supervisor with program management experience who is interested in facilitating learning among peers through approaches that are culturally responsive, academically rigorous, and involve reciprocal learning. An ideal candidate would help Fellows clarify learning goals and plans, discuss classroom dynamics, and assess student learning through a process that is not prescriptive.
