Advertised Salary:

Minimum $56,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and area of specialization:

For Counselor or Social Worker Title: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other related mental health field
For Psychologist Title: Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

For Counselor, Social Worker and Psychologist titles:
Required: Minimum of one year experience in a mental health setting.
Preferred: Minimum of two years' experience in a mental health setting with a focus on serving clients of color

Strongly preferred experiences of the candidate include:
1) Experience in an interdisciplinary college mental health treatment setting;
2) Experience in brief intervention and mental health crisis assessment;
3) Experience providing group therapy;
4) Experience in consultation and collaboration with campus and community partners and provision of campus-based services/outreach;
5) Experience with electronic health record systems;
6) Knowledge of state and federal legal and ethical confidentiality requirements;
7) Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality;
8) Supervision of trainees;
9) Provision of services in languages in addition to English;
10) Interest in Behavioral Health consultation to Medical Services providers;
11) Evidence of understanding of quality improvement initiatives; and
12) Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams including medical providers and academic faculty/staff.

License or Certificate:

For Counselor, Social Worker and Psychologist titles:
License to practice independently in the State of Wisconsin strongly preferred.
License to practice independently required within one year of hire.

Position Summary:

The mental health provider, under the supervision of Mental Health Services Co-Director or Associate Director at UHS, will provide clinical services and campus-based programming to underrepresented student groups, particularly students of color. This provider will offer assistance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of services for underrepresented students in an integrated treatment facility. In addition to direct mental health service, this provider will develop collaborative consultation relationships with community partners that serve underrepresented populations, especially those that serve students of color.

Please note: Start date will be no earlier than the Anticipated Start Date noted, but may be later. The target start date would be in advance of the start of the fall semester. Salary posted is the minimum. Experience will be considered.
