Degree and area of specialization:

Master's Degree in biology (or related field) or a Doctor of Medicine required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required Skills & Experience: Background in immunology and small animal models. Experience using multi-detector flow cytometry and cell culture. A minimum of 2 years of laboratory (undergraduate and/or graduate) work experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience: Molecular biology techniques including Western blotting, PCR, and mixed lymphocyte reaction.

Position Summary:

The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation Surgery, is looking for an individual that can be an active participant in research projects. The mission of Dr. David Al-Adra's laboratory is to improve the quality of organs for transplantation through research and innovation; particularly related to donor organ pre-treatment using small animal models.

Successful applicants will be energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, will have excellent organizational skills, and will be capable of working with a team to design and execute experiments.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
Participation in surgery and daily care of small animals.
Oversee data collection, data analysis and interpretation of data findings.
Must be able to work flexible hours with occasional weekend and holiday rotations.
