Applicants should have relevant experience such as teaching, legal practice, and/or a judicial clerkship. Applicants will preferably have experience working with, teaching or mentoring diverse groups and/or diverse students; contributing to a positive, inclusive and diverse environment.

Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking to fill a faculty position with a specialization in Legal/Ethical Considerations in Precision Medicine, which lies at a crossroads of multiple legal subfields, including health law, bioethics, regulatory law, privacy law, and insurance law. The ideal candidate would have expertise in one of more of these areas, but we are open to candidates with expertise in other areas who could bring them to bear on legal/ethical issues related to precision medicine.

The faculty hire for this position will most likely have a tenure home in the Law School, but tenure home will ultimately be determined at the time of hire based on the selected candidate's qualifications and interests. The faculty hire will be expected to collaborate with other faculty in the cluster on the UW-Madison campus, including (i) the School of Medicine and Public Health (which includes the new Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine, the Department of Medical History and Bioethics, the Department of Population Health Sciences, and/or the Oncology Department); (ii) the School of Pharmacy; (iii) the School of Public Affairs, and/or (iv) the School of Business.

This recruitment is a part of a campus-wide cluster hiring initiative to enhance the UW-campus's studies on the genetics of human cancers, cancer pharmacogenomics, and the legal/ethical issues associated with genetic analyses of human patients.
