Position Summary:

Summary: We seek a candidate to develop an internationally recognized research program focused on freshwater ecosystems. Applications will be particularly encouraged from candidates with a background in fish and fisheries ecology, and those who consider fish in a broader ecosystem context. Other potential areas of interest include quantitative ecology, aquatic conservation, community and ecosystem ecology, food web interactions, limnology, and global environmental change. Our goal is to hire an outstanding and interactive individual with broad research interests and promise for intellectual growth.

The position is based at the Center for Limnology, with a tenure home in the Department of Integrative Biology. University of Wisconsin-Madison is considered the birthplace of limnology in North America. The Center for Limnology is a collaborative and interdisciplinary unit that addresses a wide range of topics relating to freshwater systems. UW-Madison offers diverse collaborative opportunities (www.water.wisc.edu), potential for involvement with North Temperate Lakes Long-Term Ecological Research program (https://lter.limnology.wisc.edu/), and research opportunities at Trout Lake Field Station (https://limnology.wisc.edu/trout-lake-station-welcome/).

Duties: Successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching, research, and service missions of the Center for Limnology and the Department of Integrative Biology. Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is required as well as mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. Candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly research in areas of specialization leading to scholarly publications at the national and international levels. Candidate will be required to perform university and professional service as appropriate.
