Advertised Salary:

Degree and area of specialization:

BA or BS required, preferably in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or related field

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required:
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Research experience in a laboratory setting or design project work (BME Design)
-Experience leading design or research teams
-Experience with human subject testing
-Strong interest in medicine and research
-Excellent lab management and organizational skills.

Preferred:
-At least 2 years of lab research experience and a strong background in the sciences
-Background in literature research
-Preparation, revision, and submission of manuscripts
-Familiarity with IRB & IACUC Protocols
-Experience with NIH-style grant writing
-Previous published manuscripts
-Planning to or have taken the MCAT (please provide scores if applicable)

Position Summary:

The Laryngeal Physiology Lab in the Division of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is looking to recruit a full-time Research Specialist to assist in research projects in the area of voice analysis. This position will be collecting data on parameters of phonation in normal and disordered human voice. You will be responsible for approximately 15 undergraduate researchers and their projects.

Additional Information:

An ideal candidate will be a recent graduate from a biology-related major, have scored at least 510 on their MCAT and have a GPA greater than 3.5.
