Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

* Experience developing mobile applications with Android (Java) and / or Apple iOS (Swift) is required.
* Be self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision.
* Able to produce functional prototypes from mockups and ideas that may not be complete.
* Able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
* Strong attention to detail and possess good documentation skills.
* Motivated by a desire for continuous learning and finding creative ways to solve problems and improve your work.
* Passionate about helping others and using technology to improve people's lives.

Position Summary:

The Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies is seeking an help build and enhance the mobile applications we use for our research studies. The Center is a mission-driven organization directed by Dr. David Gustafson focused on research using technology, organizational, and behavioral change projects to improve health and quality of life for individuals and families facing chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Our current projects focus on addiction recovery support, helping substance abuse treatment agencies, and improving the quality of life for older adults.

Additional Information:

This is a terminal position expected to last for 9 months from appointment date; with a possibility of an extension of up to an additional year, and the possibility of a change to Fixed Term Renewable status if there is a need for an ongoing appointment and/or funding becomes available.
