Advertised Salary:

Minimum $55,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's Degree Required. B.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

*An in-depth understanding of modern system and networking environments (including virtualization and hosting solutions), as well as expertise in Open Source required.

*Must be able to work independently as well as within groups, multi-task on more than one project/task, work with IS leadership to prioritize projects and issues, and strive to utilize technology to improve the processes and services of the IS group as well as those of the WEI researchers and operations groups.

*Knowledge of research environments, application programming, and managing scientific database servers preferred.

*Experience with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.) desired.

Position Summary:

As a member of a research team of faculty, staff and post-docs, the Systems Administrator will be part of an Information Services (IS) team supporting the research objectives of the Wisconsin Energy Institute (WEI) and Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) in scientific and business computing, and computational infrastructure.
