Degree and area of specialization:

Master's degree required, doctoral degree strongly preferred

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

-At least 3 years of experience providing leadership for and working with academic programs and services.
-Preference given to those with a degree in a discipline represented in CALS.
-Preference given to those with research or teaching experience.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Dean for Academic Programs and Policies is responsible for leadership in academic policy administration and accuracy of curriculum and policies in the degree audit and Guide publication. The Assistant Dean oversees course and program proposal review, curriculum assessment, academic program review, and oversight of signature student experiences such as the Honors Program and QuickStart Program, with the assistance of an academic planner and two instructional program managers. The individual filling this role must work well with students, faculty, staff, and administrators in a cooperative team environment.
