Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Degree preferred from a discipline in L&S, Education, or a related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required:
-At least 1 year of experience providing educational technology consulting and support.
-Demonstrated ability to collaborate on complex projects with diverse teams (e.g., faculty, academic staff, graduate teaching assistants, librarians, technologists, and instructional designers).
-Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
-Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work while balancing priorities and managing deadlines.

Preferred:
-Applied coursework or professional certification in instructional design, media production, and/or educational technology.
-Experience designing, developing and/or producing blended and online courses in a modern learning management system (experience with Instructure's Canvas especially helpful).
-Previous teaching experience and/or experience training instructors, especially on the pedagogically-effective use of technology.
-Experience developing and deploying audio and video assets in support of organizational goals.
-Familiarity with instructional design principles and an ability to analyze and integrate trends in the use of educational technology within higher education.

Position Summary:

L&S Learning Support Services (LSS) serves the UW-Madison College of Letters & Science, which is a diverse community of departments, programs, centers, and institutes dedicated to fulfilling UW-Madison's core educational mission and furthering the Wisconsin Idea. LSS provides technology facilities, services, and support to L&S students, faculty, and staff. We are

As an educational consultant, you will be joining a group of dedicated professionals who work together to advance high-quality learning. We partner with instructors to develop blended and online courses, produce educational media, integrate technology tools, and more. The majority of your duties will be related to educational and technology consulting, with the balance of your time focused on course and media development.
