Advertised Salary:

Minimum $65,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and area of specialization:

A bachelor's degree is required in computer science or related field for candidates with no previous work experience.

The bachelor's degree requirement will be waived for candidates with the following years' related professional experience as follows:
Associate level - minimum of 1 year's experience
No prefix level - minimum of 3 years' experience
Senior level - minimum of 7 years' experience

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Required:
* Experience developing web applications using one or more technologies (including but not limited to) RESTful web API's implemented in C#, ASP.MVC, and Microsoft Entity Framework, as well as, experience interfacing with one or more databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
* Experience with one of more of the following technologies/frameworks: Javascript, jQuery, Bootstrap, AngularJS, Angular
* Ability to interface with faculty, researchers, administrative staff, as well as technical personnel.
* Strong customer relation skills and excellent interponsal skills.
* Thorough knowledge of secure coding practices
* A minimum of 7 years relevant experience required for Senior level

Preferred:
* Experience with enterprise architecture and software design

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will work in the Wisconsin Center for Education Research's (WCER) Technical Services Department and will be responsible for developing and maintaining large and complex applications for education research, management of research personnel data, and research proposal budgeting data. The Software Application Developer will act as a consultant to faculty and research staff recommending the appropriate technology, software, and database designs for funded research specific education projects. The candidate will provide software support for Intel platforms on an enterprise-level Windows 2012 network and this support through direct effort on externally funded initiatives housed at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER).
