Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred

You should have experience designing and implementing web sites in content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, Joomla). In particular, experience with Drupal is a plus. Experience with web development technologies (Javascript, CSS, PHP, databases) or the willingness to learn such skills is a plus.

To be successful, you will need to communicate effectively with users of varying levels of expertise including faculty, students, and staff.

Position Summary:

The WIPAC web developer is responsible for developing and maintaining a set of web sites and web based applications that deliver educational and science oriented content for a variety of particle physics experiments. The largest of these is the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, a kilometer scale neutrino detector located at the geographic South Pole. This involves working to deploy and manage content using Drupal as well as working with domain scientists to build and deploy specialized web applications that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
