Position Summary:

Under the supervision of Mental Health Services Leadership Team member, the Mental Health Provider - TGNC Coordinator will provide clinical services and campus-based programming to UW-Madison students with a focus on serving trans or gender non-conforming (TGNC) students. This provider will offer assistance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of services for TGNC students in an integrated treatment facility, including informed consent approach to gender affirming hormone treatment. In addition to direct mental health service, this provider will develop collaborative consultation relationships with UHS and community partners that serve TGNC students and will coordinate MHS services for this population. To this end, the Mental Health Provider - TGNC Coordinator performs the following:

Degree and Area of Specialization:

For Counselor or Social Worker Title: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other related mental health field
For Psychologist Title: Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology
License/certification:
For Counselor, Social Worker and Psychologist titles: License to practice independently in the State of Wisconsin preferred. License to practice independently required within two years of hire.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required: Minimum of one year experience in a mental health setting.
Preferred: Minimum of two years' experience in a mental health setting working with clients who identify as trans or gender non-conforming (TGNC). Experience in program coordination and leadership.
Strongly preferred experiences of the candidate include:
1) Experience in an interdisciplinary college mental health treatment setting;
2) Experience in brief intervention and mental health crisis assessment;
3) Experience in group therapy;
4) Experience in consultation and collaboration with campus or community partners and provision of campus-based services/outreach including experience developing campus-wide programs that focus on serving TGNC students;
5) Experience with electronic health record systems;
6) Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality & health disparities, and commitment to continued development of cultural competencies;
7) Supervision of trainees;
8) Experience participating in quality improvement initiatives; and
10) Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams including medical providers and/or academic faculty/staff.

Additional Information:

The posted salary is the minimum. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The psychologist title series will have a higher starting salary.
