FINANCIAL SPECIALIST SENIOR INTL DIV/INTL DIVISION Madison
The Financial Specialist Senior provides support for financial activities within International Academic Programs (IAP), a unit in the International Division, which serves as the largest study abroad office at UW-Madison. IAP, a fund 128 auxiliary unit, administers more than 240 campus-wide study abroad and exchange programs and annually sends over 1,500 UW-Madison students abroad. Further information about IAP can be found: http://www.studyabroad.wisc.edu This position is a member of the IAP financial team that includes the Financial Specialist Supervisor and two other Financial Specialists within the unit to maintain financial records and budget tracking systems for the office. The Financial Specialist Senior will process a variety of financial forms, oversee study abroad program budgets, and will assist the office with interpreting financial rules and regulations.
SHIP OPERATIONS SUPPORT UHS/STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE Madison
SHIP Operations Support positions are central to the success of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). SHIP, a unit of University Health Services (UHS), caters to the needs of almost 5,000 voluntary domestic and mandatory international student and scholar members with revenues exceeding $8 million. This position acts as an integral link between this population, the insurance claims office and numerous campus departments and serves as the primary contact for all health insurance related issues. The incumbent is responsible for using all available resources to provide health coverage support and education to a culturally diverse population, demanding strong customer service skills and the ability to take actions necessary to respond to member needs. The incumbent must be equipped to provide individual support to students and scholars and address issues which are confidential in nature. SHIP Operations Support staff manage the SHIP enrollment processing, waiver processing and payment processing functions - ensuring proper posting to the different modules of the Health Plan Activity Database (HPAD). This position requires the ability to collect and analyze transaction data paying close attention to detail with a small margin for error. This position is responsible for a number of critical control processes which ensure that the mandatory health insurance requirements of SHIP are met by international students and J-1 scholars. The incumbent must be flexible and possess good multi-tasking skills, especially during the high volume enrollment periods Vacation time is extremely limited during plan open enrollment periods; August/September and January/February. This individual will provide back-up to the other SHIP Operations Suport position and the SHIP Manager as required. Work is performed under general supervision.
