The successful candidate will bring both exceptional potential to advance a contemporary area of cellular or molecular biosciences and strength in the science of cryo-electron microscopy. The candidate will carry out a vigorous, externally funded research program at the forefront of the application or development of cryo-electron microscopy, or both. The candidate will also teach graduates and undergraduates in the Biochemistry curriculum. This position will manage the Large Volume Sampling program to support the Revised Total Coliform Rule Level 2 Assessment requirements. In addition, the incumbent will perform routine and complex procedures in the Water Microbiology Unit. Quality assurance functions will be performed to insure that the unit is always in compliance with all applicable regulations. The incumbent will perform specialized testing using hollow fiber ultrafiltration, API 20E, traditional and quantitative PCR methods and assist in developing methods using molecular methods and cell culture methods for microbial source tracking method development research projects.
