RESEARCH SPECIALIST - LUNG DISEASE RESEARCH summary: The Schnapp laboratory in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine is seeking a candidate who will assist our ongoing research directed toward understanding mechanisms of lung injury and repair responses. The candidate will perform supervised work on several projects using mice, human tissue, and cultured cells. RESEARCH RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR summary: The BRAVE Research Center in the Department of Psychiatry has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, creative, and outreach-oriented individual to join our team! The successful candidate will be working in Dr. Ryan Herringa's research lab, which is interested in identifying how trauma and abuse affect brain development in youth, as well as social and biological functioning in families, may lead youth to resilience or vulnerability. The lab's research methods include MRI scans, behavioral tasks, and clinical interviews with participants with and without mental illness and/or histories of traumatic experiences.
The Research Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting research participants for studies in the lab. This position will coordinate creation and dissemination of research study advertisement material. This includes community outreach activities, such as establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners. This position will also coordinate the entire online and telephone screening processes, as well as participant scheduling. Additionally, this position will both coordinate and personally conduct 30-minute telephone screenings and assessments with potential research participants' parents, and youth with and without affective disorders and/or maltreatment. In addition to screenings, this position will regularly conduct clinical interview visits with prospective participants to collect data on current and past mental health symptoms, as well as trauma history, therefore determining study enrollment. Additional training on behavioral study visits may take place dependent on candidate interest and changing lab needs. This position will also assist with cultivating positive rapport with families, including answering the telephone and collaborating with other lab members to assure all study visits are appropriately staffed.

The Grant and Contract Specialist will be the team's expert in pre-award and post-award activities for all federal and non-federal grants and contracts including sub awards, sub contracts, and data use agreements. This successful candidate will be highly organized and motivated, with excellent attention to detail and follow-through, and will demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to the flow of multiple projects with varying deadlines.
