PROFESSOR - CLUSTER HIRE ENGR/INDUSTRIAL & SYSTEMS ENGR Madison
The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to hire a faculty member with research and teaching interests in the computational and/or statistical aspects of data science, broadly defined. This position in Electrical and Computer Engineering or Industrial and Systems Engineering is part of a campus-wide cluster initiative to expand and broaden expertise in the fundamentals of data science at UW-Madison. Three faculty positions will be hired in the cluster, which will build a world-class core of interdisciplinary strength in the mathematical, statistical, and algorithmic foundations of data science. The cluster hiring initiative involves the Departments of Computer Sciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics. It is anticipated that successful candidates will develop strong collaborations with existing data science research programs at UW-Madison -- especially with the other faculty hired under this cluster program.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR ENGR/ELECTRICAL & COMPUTER ENG Madison
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is growing its faculty in the areas of solid-state electronics and quantum technologies, and optics and photonics, and is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position in the area of wide bandgap and ultrawide-bandgap semiconductor physics, materials, and devices. The department is specifically interested in candidates with a strong background and experimental expertise in the growth and synthesis of III-nitride materials for device applications in power electronics and sustainable energy systems, bioelectronics and biophotonics for healthcare technologies, and optoelectronics for computing and communications. Candidates who transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries are especially encouraged. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - HYDROLOGY - CLUSTER HIRE MSN/ENV ST/ACADEMIC PROGS Madison
The University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of hydrology. We specifically seek candidates with expertise in the transport, transformation, and fate of solutes and materials carried by groundwater and/or surface water, as well as in the solute exchange and processing that occurs within or at the interface between these two domains. This position is part of a campus-wide cluster hiring initiative that aims to further build the vibrant community of water scholars at UW-Madison (https://water.wisc.edu/). The Department of Mechanical Engineering at UW-Madison seeks two Assistant Professors whose research interests include controls, robotics, autonomous systems, and dynamic systems. The department is especially interested in candidates whose research is focused on design, analysis and control of autonomous dynamic systems for mobility and manipulation, and application of these systems to critical societal challenges.
