The department is specifically interested in candidates who have expertise in both component-level and system-level modeling and control applicable to larger scale energy systems including the power grid.

The department is especially interested in candidates whose research is focused on real-world application of novel control approaches used to address current challenges in mechanical engineering. Application areas of particular interest include (1) electric vehicle powertrain, power storage, large-scale energy systems and electrification and (2) autonomous vehicles, systems, and intelligent robotics.
