Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin - Madison Division of Geriatrics welcomes applications for a new tenure-track faculty position. This new position would reside within the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH).

In addition to research, the position will include clinical care responsibilities within existing clinical programs focused on the older adult population. Clinical service assignments will depend upon candidates' training and interests, and may include opportunities in areas such as palliative care and dementia care services. As a UW-Madison faculty member, this position will also include teaching responsibilities, both within the context of clinical practice and in the classroom setting or mentorship of students and trainees.

The UW Geriatrics Division is nationally renowned for its extensive expertise and innovative programs in aging and dementia research. It is expected that the successful candidate will dedicate the major share of their time to research and will be able to bring existing external funding to the position. In addition, the candidate will work to pursue additional funding in collaboration with Dr. Amy Kind and other colleagues as part the UW Health Services and Care Research (HSCR) Program. Preparation of successful grant applications, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications will be expected.

UW-Madison is also widely known for its unique culture of interdisciplinary collaboration and dedication to public service. The new faculty member will be encouraged to collaborate with faculty across the university on interdisciplinary research and training that will enhance program support and develop our next generation of geriatrics care providers. Active participation in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the faculty rank will also be expected.

The School of Medicine and Public Health has a deep and profound commitment to diversity both as an end in itself but, also as a valuable means for eliminating health disparities. As such, we strongly encourage applications from candidates who foster and promote the values of diversity and inclusion.
