We are recruiting for an exceptional pediatric surgeon to join our Division of Pediatric Surgery. The selected candidate will serve as the primary pediatric surgery provider at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. The Department of Surgery provides a robust infrastructure of services to support faculty in their clinical and academic success.

The Department of Surgery at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a fellowship-trained pediatric surgeon to join an active pediatric surgery practice with Gundersen Health System. The selected candidate will serve as the primary pediatric surgery provider at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. UW Health has contracted with Gundersen Health System to provide pediatric surgeons and lead their Pediatric Surgery program. The selected candidate will assist in developing a robust pediatric surgery program within the Gundersen Health System market and in creating a statewide pediatric surgery program between the Gundersen Health System and UW Health.
The selected candidate for this clinically oriented position will be responsible for providing a full spectrum of pediatric surgery services, including outpatient and inpatient consultations, elective surgical procedures, and unscheduled and emergency surgical procedures. This position will also be responsible for the management of surgical patients transferring to or from Gundersen Health System. The selected candidate may also be responsible for the training and education of medical students, general surgery residents, and fellows.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
MD, DO, or equivalent, specializing in pediatric surgery is required.
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery is required.
Candidates must possess clinical and academic credentials sufficient for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. Appointment as associate professor or full professor will require that candidate's credentials meet criteria for rank established by UW School of Medicine and Public Health Guidelines.
License or Certificate:
Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin medical license. Board certification or board eligibility in Surgery through the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery or equivalent. Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges.
