Position Summary:

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a Family Medicine physician to fulfill the Medical Director role in the Wisconsin Research and Education Network (WREN) program, precept learners in the School of Medicine and Public Health and in the Ambulatory Acting Internship, fulfill role as Associate Director of the Wisconsin Academy of Rural Medicine (WARM) program, and provide clinical care as a Float physician.

Principal Duties:

Duties will include 20% Wisconsin Research and Education Network (WREN) Medical Director, 20% SMPH Preceptorship and Ambulatory Acting Internship, 15% Associate Director WARM (Wisconsin Academy of Rural Medicine), and 20% provision of clinical care of patients and teaching/supervision medical students and other learners. This position may also include a 0-25% City of Milwaukee Health Department role.

The preferred candidate will either have experience teaching and working with a diverse population in an academic setting or will welcome a commitment to teaching and working with a diverse population.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

M.D. or D.O.
Family Medicine

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Successful completion of a fully accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.

Primary care research and/or practice based research experience preferred.

Experience teaching learners in an academic medical center required.

Candidates for associate professor (CHS) or full professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.

License or Certificate:

Wisconsin medical license required prior to first day of employment.
Certification by the American Board of Family Medicine

Additional Information:

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
