Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) and the Division of Hematology/Oncology and Palliative Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin is seeking applicants for a full-time professor, associate or assistant level hematologist and/or medical oncologist to join our Bone Marrow Transplant clinical and translational research programs.

The UW Bone Marrow Adult Transplant Program performs more than 200 transplants annually, including both allogeneic and autologous transplants. In 2018, our program began CAR-T therapy for our adult patient population. Our program is a growing multidisciplinary team of transplant professionals, working together toward the goal of providing the best possible care for our patients. The candidate will contribute to our strategic framework in support of our BMT program, provide direct patient care, academic teaching, and conduct clinical research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.

Principal Duties:

Faculty and staff of the Department of Medicine value professionalism, patient-centeredness, compassion, respect, innovation, discovery, inclusion, diversity, teamwork, scholarship and stewardship. Duties include approximately 50% direct patient care at UW Health's main campus, including ambulatory, inpatient and consult service attending; proactively supporting efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participants; 40-50% protected time to develop a research or education program and to engage in related scholarly activity or administrative role. Additional leadership positions representing the division and/or UWCCC on state, regional or national committees may be available to appropriate candidates.

The Division of Hematology/Oncology is part of the Department of Medicine and the NCI-designated UW Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Division is active in all phases of cancer therapy development and evaluation.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD, DO or MD/PhD; Must be Board prepared or eligible in Hematology, or Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

* Clinical and research publications in hematological malignancy and bone marrow transplantation (BMT).

* Completion of an accredited fellowship training program in hematology and/or medical oncology with significant clinical experience in BMT. The completion of a BMT fellowship is desired but optional.

* Candidates for associate or full professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines.

License or Certificate:

Eligible for Wisconsin medical license.

Additional Information:

Total compensation targets AAMC benchmarks by rank.
