The Associate Director of Compliance/GDPR Officer (ADC) is a newly created role at UW-Madison. The ADC will oversee the Information Protection and Transparency cluster of the Office of Compliance, which is comprised of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance, Health Insurance Portability and Privacy (HIPAA-Privacy), and Wisconsin Public Records compliance units. The ADC will assist the Director of Compliance with compliance policy creation, decision-making, and programming; and assist with strategic leadership of both the Office of Compliance and institutional compliance. The ADC will coordinate with other institutional compliance programs to ensure efficiency and communicate opportunities, progress and challenges to the Director of Compliance.
As UW-Madison's GDPR Compliance Officer, the ADC will develop institution-wide policies and procedures, develop and deliver training programs, and create, distribute, and maintain compliance documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree, such as J.D., preferred.
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
At least 3 years' experience in compliance or a compliance-related field. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Previous experience in higher education preferred. Experience with data and data privacy preferred.
