Position Summary:

This is a one-year laboratory technician position in the Ntambi lab. Our laboratory investigates the biochemistry of mono-unsaturated fatty acids in health and disease. A successful applicant will contribute to research and be responsible for laboratory maintenance (ordering, record keeping, cleaning glassware, etc.). Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, qPCR, ELISA, Gas Chromatography, western blotting, genotyping mice, maintaining the mouse colony, shipping and receiving packages, ordering, general housekeeping, and maintaining records.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

BS in Biochemistry Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology or related field is required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Understanding basic principles of chemistry and microbiology methods is required. A successful candidate will have had prior laboratory research experience. A technician that has conducted qPCR and is comfortable running many samples is preferred.
