The Division of Transplantation and Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison WI is seeking an experienced kidney and pancreas transplant surgeon. We perform, on average, 330 kidney, 56 pancreas transplants per year in addition to renal autotransplantation. The UW Health Transplant Program also has an established partnership with American Family Children's Hospital to perform pediatric kidney transplants
We are looking for candidates with a demonstrated track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions. The department provides a robust infrastructure of services. The clinical emphasis of interest is in kidney and pancreas transplantation, and living donor laparoscopic nephrectomy. This individual will also be considered to serve as Surgical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program. The successful candidate will have experience at a large volume kidney transplant program, with both deceased donor and living donor transplants, as well as experience with national paired kidney exchange transplants. In addition, research interests (e.g., basic transplant immunobiology, health services research, etc.); and educational interests primarily in medical student education, as well as general surgery resident and transplant surgery fellowship training, will be important considerations.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Medical Degree required, with specialization in transplantation.
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Completion of an approved residency program and an ASTS approved transplant fellowship preferred.
Rank will depend on candidate's interest and academic credentials. Candidates must possess clinical and academic credentials sufficient for appointment at the Associate Professor, or Professor rank. Candidates must have credentials that meet the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health criteria for appointment or promotion on the Clinical Health Sciences track.
License or Certificate:
Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License. Board Certification or Board Eligible in Surgery by the American Board of Surgery or foreign equivalent, eligible or certified. Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges
