Position Summary:

Advances applied research and uptake aligned with UWPHI mission to translate research for policy and practice. Identifies research problems, designs research methodologies, secures funding, performs research, and supports dissemination to broad audiences, including scholarly publications and reports. Assists with the Institute's strategic initiatives and provides management for a variety of research activities.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. required, preferred area of study in Population Health, Epidemiology, Demography, Anthropology, Sociology, or health sciences field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least two years of successful and relevant experience in applied research and evaluation with population health and equity focus.

Familiarity with a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods and experience with statistical analysis and coding software.

Comprehensive understanding and ability to critically evaluate the population health, health disparities, and health equity literature.

Successful candidates will be detail oriented, have strong organizational, analytical, and writing skills.

Preferred experience with managing complex projects and budgets, including agenda-setting towards an overarching strategy.

Preferred experience with leading multidisciplinary teams and with supervisory responsibilities

Preferred experience with successfully obtaining grant funding

Candidates should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
