Position Summary:

The Singh laboratory in the Division of Allergy, Immunology conducts translational and clinical research to determine mechanisms of allergic inflammation and the development of allergic disease. This project builds on clinical research observations as to the basis for why some children develop allergic disease. The successful applicant will work with the PI to develop testable mechanistic hypotheses and to proceed to test those models using a variety of approaches including functional immunology, cell biology, microbiology, and molecular biology. The Singh Lab collaborates closely with other clinical and basic science laboratories. Therefore, this project will provide opportunities for projects that will be led by the applicant, as well as collaborative team science work in which the applicant will contribute to collaborations with other allergy and microbiology groups.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

PhD or equivalent degree required, training related to microbiology, immunology or bioinformatics preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Experience with cell culture, flow cytometry and/or advanced microbiological techniques is required.

Effective oral and written communication skills, independent problem solving and analytic skills, attention to detail and organization, and service-orientated approach is required.

The pay rate provided is the minimum for the position. Prefix level and pay rate will be determined at the time of hire based on candidate qualifications and experience.
