Job Summary:

The Co-Director of CHR&R will be responsible for leadership and management of research and development of population health and equity data assets for a national program. This position will work to coordinate, manage, and oversee various activities including metric development, data communication, methodological innovation, and evidence and policy analysis. This position will represent CHR&R in regional and national forums, including serving as a highly visible spokesperson in national broadcast interviews or as a speaker at major conferences and convenings.

Key activities include:

Research Program Leadership
Lead and manage four program areas in collaboration with the Co-Director, Team Leaders, Senior Advisor and Principal Investigator, including: Data Analytics, Evidence and Policy Analysis, Population Health and Equity Research, Design and Evaluation.
Co-lead of CHR&R strategic visioning, external partnership development, engagement with funder ecosystem and business model implementation.
Co-lead organizational culture and capacity building, staff recruitment and onboarding.
Co-Develop grant proposals and budgets, interim memos, progress reports and other formal communication with the funder.
Serve as a spokesperson and play a lead role in media response.
Monitor budgets, expenditures and contractual relationships.

Research
Contribute to research and evaluation (conducting and supervising) in the field of population health, with a focus both on improving health outcomes and increasing health equity.

UWPHI Leadership
Co-represent the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R) program in the Population Health Institute Leadership Team, including integrating CHR&R with other Institute work, providing service to the Institute such as through Institute wide strategic planning and implementation, work groups, guest lectures, and other duties as requested by the Director.

Qualifications:

Required:
-At least 6 years of exceptional management and/or leadership of large, complex research projects
-Strong knowledge of population health and equity research and policy analysis
-Exceptional written and oral communication skills
-Demonstrated experience fostering strong relationships with colleagues, collaborators, consultants, and other partners
-Proficient in managing multiple, complex, concurrent projects, monitoring budgets, and meeting deadlines with competing demands in a fast-paced work environment
-Experience with all aspects of supervision and team building, including leadership that fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace culture
-Strong knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion workforce strategies

Preferred:
-3-5 years of experience interacting with media and journalists

Successful candidates will:
-Possess excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
-Know how to tailor communication styles to effectively appeal to a broad array of entities, including program leadership and external partners, and funders
-Have strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
-Bring a positive, team-focused, and appreciative inquiry mindset
-Have a passion for working collaboratively in a shared leadership model as part of a program with the mission to advance population health and equity
-Embrace the need for timely responsiveness to requests for information and interviews from media
