Job Summary:

Adult Career and Special Student Services (ACSSS) is one of seven admission offices at UW-Madison and is the customer service office for the entire Division of Continuing Studies. The office serves as a gateway for adults who seek lifelong learning opportunities, as well as an important partner to campus units serving nontraditional populations as well. The office also provides UW employees with career and educational counseling. ACSSS receives over 5,000 applications annually and supports the enrollment and advising of students in 15 different classifications over three terms. The office also supports a recruitment team welcoming students into over 90 undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs, many of them fully online programs. ACSSS serves students ranging in age from 14 to 92 with the unit also supporting multiple programs welcoming many first-time international students for short-term study in the United States. The position strengthens access to UW-Madison by processing student admissions, connecting with other units where appropriate, and providing excellent customer service.

The Enrollment Coach will join the Recruitment Strategies team within the Adult Career and Special Student Services Office (ACSSS) at the Division of Continuing Studies. The team manages the student recruitment strategy and recruitment process from point-of-inquiry through enrollment into the Professional Degrees and Certificates (PDC) flexible and online credit programs portfolio ( and/or new online degree completion programs ( at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. This role demands a high level of collaboration, coordination and organization, effective communication skills particularly with diverse populations, skills in problem solving, public speaking and demonstrated ability to succeed in dynamic, goal driven, fast-paced team environments. The key responsibilities for this role include: recruiting students from new lead through enrollment via phone, mail, events, and digital technologies; tracking successful recruitment strategies to influence new marketing and recruitment tactics; and developing relationships with businesses, other schools, and alumni to support program and industry specific recruitment efforts. Enrollment Coaches spend the majority of their time in one to one communication with prospective students via phone, email, text, or video conferencing/meetings.

Bachelor's Degree


One year (two years strongly preferred) of professional experience (including relevant internships) in one or more of the following areas: college admissions and recruitment, academic affairs, student services, academic program management, sales, marketing, advertising, communications, customer service. Experience in higher education preferred.

Required Skills:
- Working expertise with Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and collaboration software (MS Teams, Zoom, Google Drive, Box).
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams and communicating with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success meeting deadlines and goals while managing multiple projects.
- Demonstrated success working autonomously and as a part of a team.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with the following applications and software preferred: Student Information Systems (preferably PeopleSoft), Project management software (preferably WorkZone), Marketing Automation tools (preferably Eloqua), CRM tools (preferably Salesforce).
- Experience developing and implementing action, recruitment, customer service, sales, student development, or marketing plans.
- Demonstrated involvement with higher education initiatives and teams devoted to improving diversity, inclusion, and equity in all aspects of the student experience.
- Experience working in a remote or hybrid work environment.

This position will require evening and weekend work based on the deadlines of assigned portfolio of programs.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. The majority of work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location provided the Enrollment Coach is meeting recruitment goals.
