Job Summary:

The Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) seeks exceptional internists to provide patient-centered care for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in the outpatient setting. We are looking for candidates with a demonstrated track record of clinical excellence. GIM provides faculty with ample opportunities for medical education and scholarship. Responsibilities:

Duties may include clinical teaching of medical students and other learners, as well as administrative duties. Individuals may also be called upon to fill clinical needs at UW Health Urgent Care Centers. The preferred candidate will either have experience teaching and working with a diverse population or will welcome a commitment to teaching and working with a diverse population.

Provide patient care at UW Health approved location(s); provide clinical teaching to medical students and/or residents and fellows.

For appointments hired as Assistant or Associate Professor (CHS):
Provide patient care at UW Health approved location(s); provide clinical teaching to medical students and/or residents and fellows. GIM provides faculty with ample opportunities for medical education and scholarship. Time is expected to be spent on clinical research activities and academic service.

Candidates for appointment as Associate Professor (CHS) rank will demonstrate academic credentials for this title/rank per established SMPH guidelines.

License/Certification:

Required
American Board of Internal Medicine Board Eligible/Board Certified. The expectation is to be Board Certified within the first two years of employment.


Required
Wisconsin medical licensure required prior to start date.

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
