Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) and the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care, Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin is seeking applicants for a full professor or associate professor rank hematologist/medical oncologist interested in leading our Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy clinical and translational research programs.

The University of Wisconsin (UW) Adult Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program performs more than 200 transplants annually, including both allogeneic and autologous transplants. In 2018, our program began CAR-T therapy for our adult patient population. Our program is a growing multidisciplinary team of transplant professionals, working together toward the goal of providing the best possible care for our patients. The candidate will help develop our strategic framework to build and support our BMT and Cellular Therapy program, provide direct patient care, participate in academic teaching, and conduct clinical research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.

Duties include 45-60% direct patient care at UW Health's main campus, including ambulatory clinic and on the inpatient BMT/Cellular Therapy service; 20-35% protected time to develop research and education programs and to engage in related scholarly activity, including proactively supporting efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participants; and 20-35% administrative time as the UW Health Medical Director for BMT. Additional leadership positions representing the division and/or UWCCC on state, regional or national committees may be available to appropriate candidates.

The Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care is part of the Department of Medicine and the NCI-designated UW Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Division is active in all phases of cancer therapy development and evaluation.

Terminal Degree
MD or DO or equivalent is required


- Clinical and research publications in hematological malignancy and bone marrow transplantation (BMT).
- Completion of an accredited fellowship training program in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology with significant clinical experience in BMT.
- Candidates for associate or professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines.
