Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry is excited to announce an opening on our expanding team of psychiatrists in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division. In this dynamic position, you will have the opportunity to provide psychiatric care to a variety of pediatric patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as some adult outpatient coverage. Additionally, you will have the chance to take part in the educational objectives of The University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health by supervising and building a mentor/mentee relationship with a variety of learners, including residents and fellows. Responsibilities:

Clinical/Department Duties (90%):
-Provide psychiatric care to a variety of pediatric, and occasional adult patients, in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
-Share in call schedules.
-Serve on appropriate department committees

Teaching Duties (10%):
-Supervise, mentor, and teach psychiatric residents, psychology interns, and medical students.
-Serve on appropriate medical school/academic committees

MD/DO Required.

Qualifications:

Qualified applicants will have completed/possess the following:
-Board Certification in Adult or Child Psychiatry (or Board Eligible with a firm plan to complete certification requirements).
-Successful completion of Child/Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship.
-Minimum one year clinical experience in the treatment of psychiatric disorders preferred.

The following criteria will need to be met prior to a potential hire¿s start date:
-Obtain Wisconsin Medical License and DEA Certifications
-Complete credentialing with UW Health managed care plans as well as credentialing and staff privileges at UW Hospital, UnityPoint Health ¿ Meriter Hospital, and VA Middleton.

-Candidates for clinical associate professor or clinical professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Clinician-Teacher track.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
