Job Summary:

Develops and directs the implementation of strategic plans for enterprise information technology (IT) function(s), program(s), or service(s) to ensure resources are utilized and to provide effective information technology services. Typically manages enterprise IT services, serving the institution(s) through subordinate managers.

The Director of Student Enterprise Applications will lead the Application Development and Technical Services team within the Office of the Registrar, which includes setting the strategic direction for the area as well as supervision and development of experienced technical staff. This person will provide leadership and direction in the alignment, integration, and development of technological improvements, particularly within the Student Information System (SIS), as well as other enterprise systems maintained by the Office of the Registrar (e.g., Curricular Information Management System, Transcript and Diploma Services, etc.). This individual will also provide oversight and coordination of development, enhancements, infrastructure, and maintenance of SIS in alignment with SIS Governance and Division of Enrollment Management and Division of Information Technology teams (e.g., DBAs, technical leads, etc.), as well as direct and facilitate communication with SIS stakeholders across campus. This individual will participate in the development, recommendation, and implementation of policies and procedures that affect the administration of student and academic data and will advise the University Registrar and Vice Provost of Enrollment Management regarding such policies.

Responsibilities: Develops and directs the implementation of strategic plans for enterprise information technology (IT) function(s), program(s), or service(s) to ensure resources are utilized and to provide effective information technology services. Typically manages enterprise IT services, serving the institution(s) through subordinate managers.
  • 13% Directs strategic information technology planning initiatives and establishes objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources in alignment with the strategic plan
  • 13% Develops operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and objectives
  • 13% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 13% Develops and audits the budget
  • 13% Serves as the primary liaison representing the interests to internal and external stakeholders for enterprise IT services
  • 13% Advises institutional or divisional leadership on enterprise information technology operations and business models
  • 12% May perform manager functions through subordinate managers
  • 5% Meet the documented Office of the Registrar standards including but not limited to: standards in customer service, participation, communications, professional development, and testing of processes/systems. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

-Five years of experience managing a complex technology service unit minimally comprised of
enterprise-level operational technical professionals in a highly distributed organization (e.g. higher
education, public, private, governmental, or research environment).

-Education and experience should reflect the responsibilities of an IT leader in a large and highly variable environment delivering a wide range of IT related projects and services to a variety of stakeholders.

-Knowledge of Oracle/Peoplesoft's Student Information System and experience working in an institution of higher education is preferred.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Minimum $130,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
