Job Summary:

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) has built a world-class reputation for compassionate patient care, cutting-edge research, and hands-on training programs for resident physicians and clinical fellows. We are seeking candidates for a Medical Retina position that will involve patient care, teaching, and research. Clinical activities will include patient care at local UW Health clinic locations. Teaching activities will involve medical students, residents, fellows, and continuing medical education in the area of medical retina. Research activities may include participation in clinical trials and/or translational research.

Responsibilities:

This position will include providing patient care at the UW Health Clinics, including develop and carry out patient care programs in the diagnosis and treatment of medical retina eye diseases. Clinical activities may include a medical retina clinic at the Middleton VAMC.

This position will participate in resident/medical student/fellowship education.

This position will perform administrative duties as required by this position.

Participate in and conduct clinical trials in medical retina eye diseases.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
MD in Ophthalmology required.

Qualifications:

-Board Certified/Board Eligible
-Residency training in an U.S. Ophthalmology Accredited Program.
-Fellowship trained in Medical Retina is required. Vitreo retinal training also applicable.
-WI Medical License required by start date.

-Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) and Professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per SMPH guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.
