Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Information Technology, the university's central Information Technology group, is looking to add an Enterprise Network Architect to the Chief Technology Officer's Enterprise Architecture group.

UW-Madison consists of 13 schools and colleges, over 24,000 faculty/staff, a student enrollment of over 45,000, and in excess of $1.3B in annual research expenditures. All of this adds up to amazing and incredible activities happening on campus that you will be a part of. The data network supports these activities, connecting all campus buildings, domestic and international research facilities, internet service providers, cloud providers and our health partner UW Health - all with security, performance, and universal access as design pillars.

Enterprise Architecture (EA) plays a role in setting and facilitating the direction of the university's major information and technology efforts. EA contributions and assignments are matched to skills, experience, interest and strategic need.

The Network Services department is responsible for the university's most prominent network products, including hardwired and wireless networks, virtual private networks, firewalls, telephony, research networks, and more.

Enterprise Architecture and Network Services are collaborators first and foremost, guiding colleagues across campus to architect, design, and build networks relied upon by our world-class research university.

You will help set the course for our campus data network future that supports leadership vision. You will build trust relationships and strategize with our partners to understand that vision, plan and articulate it, and help make it a reality. Most importantly, you will take pride in making a difference at our great university.

Being a part of a word class university is an amazing experience. You will see and feel the energy of our students, staff, and faculty and understand the tie to our instructional, research, and outreach missions.

This position comes with generous paid time off and sick leave, banked leave, an attractive employer-contributed retirement program, employer-contributed healthcare for you and applicable family members, and a wealth of professional development opportunities including paid continuing education, vendor sponsored training, and training from professional organizations.
