Job Summary: |
The Division of Geriatrics & Gerontology, Department of Medicine, UW School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking applicants for a full-time clinical assistant professor on the Clinician Teacher (CT) track. The faculty member will provide a dual role as primary care and specialty care physician. The position provides clinical patient care at UW Health locations, working with a geriatric clinical care team including other providers. Primary care is provided to older adult patients in one or more outpatient geriatric clinics, with some care provided in nursing homes. Specialty services are primarily provided in memory care but could also include geriatric assessment services for patients suffering from a complex series of symptoms. The successful candidate will provide clinical teaching to medical students, residents and fellows and have additional responsibilities at UW Hospital for providing education during inpatient wards rotations.

Responsibilities: |
Position responsibilities for patient care include predominantly ambulatory primary care with some inpatient clinical care for older adult patients at UW Health approved locations. Approximately 10% of the ambulatory clinical duties will include memory or other sub-specialty care. Responsibilities will also include clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and other service appropriate to the position.

Required Terminal Degree MD/DO or equivalent required.

Completion of an accredited fellowship training program in Geriatrics is required.

Required: Eligible for Wisconsin medical license.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
