Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for patient care and surgery, teaching and clinical research responsibilities including the training of medical students, house staff and fellows. The position will provide neurosurgical services for UW Health and will be a key collaborator with other faculty in neurological surgery and cranial programs and services at Meriter Hospital and UWHC.

Successful candidates will develop new teaching programs as well as enhance existing programs; attract patient referrals to the service; develop a plan to present information concerning neurosurgery statewide; serve as attending on neurosurgery inpatient and consult service and outpatient clinics; and participate in clinical activities at Meriter Hospital, UWHC, VA Hospital and affiliated clinics. Submission of applications for extramural funding and presentation of results at meetings and in publications is expected.

The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

-Wisconsin Medical License eligibility.
-DEA certifications must be obtained by start date.
-Board eligible or certified Neurosurgeon.
-Fellowship training preferred.
-Open cerebrovascular and general neurosurgery skills and experience preferred.
-Endovascular, Cerebrovascular and/or Skull base Training preferred.
