The UW Health Transplant Center is one of the world's leading organ transplant centers, and has been on the forefront of transplant advancement since its creation in 1966. Surgeons and scientists in the Division of Transplantation have made innovative discoveries that are used throughout the world. It is one of the most experienced transplant programs in the nation, and more than 15,000 organs have been transplanted at UW in the past 50 years. University of Wisconsin Organ and Tissue Donation is recognized as one of the most successful organ procurement programs in the nation. The Division of Transplantation and Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison WI is seeking an abdominal transplant surgeon to join the faculty at a large academic transplant center. We perform, on average, 330 kidney, 110 liver, and 56 pancreas transplants per year. The UW Health Transplant Center has an established partnership with American Family Children's Hospital to perform pediatric liver and kidney transplants. The UW Health Transplant Center program also has an established affiliated partnership with the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital to perform liver transplants on U.S. Veterans.
