Position Summary:

The Department of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position at the assistant or associate professor rank beginning August 2020. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment and tenure home in the Department of Sociology. Applicants must hold a PhD prior to the start of the appointment. Research specialization is open.

Principal Duties:

Successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching, research, and service missions of the Department of Sociology. Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels required as well as mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. Candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly research in candidate's area of specialization leading to scholarly publication at the national and international levels. University and professional service required as appropriate

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. in Sociology or related fields, with substantive area of specialization open.

Commensurate with career stage, applicants should demonstrate excellence and productivity in research and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
